Today I had the pleasure of photographing a very beautiful and very sleepy new baby girl. I could easily have been done with the session in under 2 hours, but I could just not stop playing with her. I couldn't wake her up if I tried, I love that! This gorgeous Mama to be is due any day, she is 38 weeks and looks AMAZING! I am a bit jealous, because I wish I looked that amazing when I was about to "pop"!! I hope you like your sneak peak, and I can't wait to meet your new baby girl :-)

This was probably one of my quickest newborn sessions to date - at under 2 hours! Stella got angry at me each time I posed her, but never actually woke up! She is an absolute doll, and I loved all of the personal little "props" that her Mama had ready to incorporate into her session. A couple of those props are below. This is my beautiful sister Samantha and her boyfriend Peter. They were here in Maryland for a visit last month (Samantha still lives in California) and so I took them out one evening for some (pre engagement) photos, is that such a thing? They are not engaged, just young and in love and that is worth documenting with photos, right?! Here are a few of my favorites.

This little man had some plans of his own for his first photoshoot, he wanted to stay awake and take everything in. He wanted nothing to do with being messed with, and posed. Our determination paid off, and after about 3 1/2 hours we got a couple of sleepy poses. None the less, this little guy was a dream and I loved his round little cheeks, such a handsome itty bitty boy. I hope you like your sneak peak "W" Family, it was a pleasure meeting you and "playing" with your new son. :-)

This evening I met these gorgeous kiddos... two sets of twins, how cool is that? They were so well behaved and made my job very easy. How adorable are they?! 7 year olds Brendan & Giovanna...

You may recognize this little cutie, as he has been featured on my blog several times in the last year. I have photographed Tyler 4 times since I first met him on his 9th day of life last year. He gets cuter by the minute, Happy Birthday Tyler!

This morning I had the pleasure of photographing this gorgeous baby girl! She is also a miracle :-) I love when I hear stories like her Mother and Father's, with such a beautiful and happy ending (or is it a new beginning?) Fun fact: Zoie was born just a couple of days before the big blizzard this past February, and had to stay in the hospital a couple of extra days because they were snowed in! How crazy is that?I look forward to photographing Zoie again in a few months! Enjoy your sneak peak!

This session was a bit different than usual. These sisters hired me to photograph them together as a gift for their Father (per his request!) and I think that is the sweetest thing! As much as I LOVE to photograph babies and children, this session was a welcome change, and these two ladies made my job very easy! I was checking the weather all afternoon, our shoot was scheduled for 6pm, and there was a storm expected between 6-7. Luckily just as we were finishing up we could hear the thunder in the distance. By the time I got home it was pouring hail like crazy!

What a gorgeous morning it was for a photoshoot! The last time I photographed Sydney she was just 6 weeks old. Now she is much bigger and full of personality! I only had a small window of time to photograph her before she decided it was nap time, but the variety of smiles and facial expressions she gave were many :-)

Harford's Most Beautiful Baby Contest (& Mother's Day Raffle) was introduced this year to benefit SARC and Harford Family House. Two organizations that serve women and children in crisis. I was honored when I was asked to participate in the contest, by donating a free mini session as part of the prize package for the winning baby.  I was so excited to meet this beautiful baby girl and her family, and we could not have asked for a more perfect evening for this photo shoot. It was so nice to meet you B Family, Carolyn is just beautiful, as are your boys!

Sweet Nicolas, you are feisy and so sweet all at the same time! I think you are going to grow up to be something special! Thanks for letting me capture your sweet son's first weeks of life, someday you can tell him the story of his first photoshoot, and laugh. I had a great time with him! 

The last time I saw Jossalyn, she was just 1 week old. Here she is at 3 months, she is stunning, with her thick dark hair and blue eyes. Her big Brother & Sister are equally as gorgeous. I am looking forward to photographing Jossalyn again at 6 months, and 1 year!

Sweet little Sophia! She was ready to go as soon as I was all set up, and let me play with her for a good hour and a half before it was mealtime! I love how sweet and girly her session was :-)

What a fun family! I had an awesome time photographing these 3!! Despite the craziness of photographing 3 little ones, and the ticks! Oh my gosh! I still feel them crawling on me! Little Mason has the best head of hair! He had been awake since 7:45 this morning, and didn't fall asleep until about 12:30 this afternoon (just after I arrived) which made for an awesome session full of sleep and smiles :-)

Such a sweet baby girl! She slept so well, only woke once to eat, and was right back to sleep. That never happens! She was so good to me :-)

This little lady was a dream, with her creamy skin and round little face. I could have stuck her in my bag and brought her home ;-) Enjoy your sneak peak guys :-)

Meet Mr. Feisty! Mom was so sure that he would not let us get any sleepy shots, but he proved her wrong! He is SO alert when awake, and incredibly strong! But oh my gosh, how cute is he?!

The last time I photographed Ella she was just 18 days old, and today I photographed her on her half birthday! She just gets prettier and prettier. It is always such an honor to photograph a child at different stages.

I love to photograph babies laying in the grass :-)

Probably my favorite shot of the day, I think I will make this my signature shot because I always try and get a headshot of babies laying in the grass.

Tonight I met up with "C" and his family for a mini session in celebration of his 3rd birthday. He is all boy and gave me a workout, but it is always a pleasure meeting up with you guys, your boys are the cutest! :-)

Day 5 - The perfect age to photograph a newborn if you ask me! Under 1 week old, they are just so fresh from the womb, so sleepy and squishy. He felt like playdough in my hands as I posed him. Congratulations J & K, I am so happy that your little guy is finally here, he is a special one.

This handsome little guy was 25 days old for his first photo shoot, and what a perfect model he was!

He was so sleepy and sweet. He even let me pose him in a way that I have tried with many previous newborns but had yet to succeed. This isn't a composite, he held this pose for 2 frames.This might be my new favorite newborn image! Thanks Baby T!

The last time I saw this little beauty she was 3 weeks old and barely 5 pounds. Now she is a much bigger, but still very tiny 9 1/2 month old! How beautiful is she?! She is seriously SO tiny! To give you an idea, she fits into my newborn hats! One of the best things about her, is that her smile is still 100% a gummy one :-) Love her!

Little Miss "B" is 6 months old, the perfect age if you ask me! She is such a sweet little thing, with big blue eyes and a smile as bright as the sunshine :-)
